Sony
I have a love-hate relationship with Sony. On the one hand, their hardware is the best, sexiest, sleekest and most desirable kit ever. I have a Vaio laptop and it's gorgeous. But their software stinks. At the moment I upgraded their awful "Sonicstage" softare in the vain hope that the new one won't crash during playback, and it's taking many minutes to "upgrade" a database that probably only takes a few MB in RAM, yet the disk has been thrashing for many minutes now. This is the weakest piece of junk ever, and the only way I can get songs onto my Sony stick mp3 player. And they always try to create these ridiculous incompatible formats, and try to lock down and proprieterise their hardware. Do I want DRM - I don't think so. Do I want a slot in my laptop that only takes a Sony memory that costs twice as much - no I don't think so. Do I want "blu-ray"?? No, I want a DVD that works with everyone else's. Hasn't Betamax, the delay of the PS3, the imminent failure of blu-ray and every other format you try to peddle and the DRM trojans taught you anything? We only forgive you because someone somewhere in your company can design a plastic case that looks nice.
Now what the hell is the software doing - seems to be scanning my external hard disk?? Now it's scanning my internal hard disk. I bet SonicStage 4 will take several minutes to "optimise" its database each time I add a song to it. I'm starting to regret buying Sony.
