Why is that every time I try to teach people how to play poker, they end up beating me horribly? I can hold my own against the hard-core poker addicts at work, yet as soon as I try to teach the betting structure of Hold'em to anybody else, I draw complete rubbish, and the novice opponent gets great cards. My dad even got quads in his first game.Similarly in the last tournament, there were a few reasonable players, yet the final two were complete novices.
