Hot

Hot, sunburned, bothered, thirsty, sweaty.

England is currently set for a heat-wave. Today the temperature is 30 degrees, it has been rising all week, and is set to continue rising. This sucks.

There are several ways to cool down. The most obvious, but least pleasant, is to go to work, which has air-conditioning. A much better option is to drive in my Audi TT, which also has air conditioning. My favourite method of all is to swim in a lake in Sweden, but this isn't possible at the moment so we have set up the bath as a paddling pool. Cold showers are fine but a cold bath in the indoor paddling pool is more effective. Having a cold bath until your teeth chatter just before bed is excellent. Another technique is to open the windows and have a powerful fan blowing, but when it's 27 outside, this helps little.

I also need to put my laptop on stilts since it gets too hot even to type on. Sometimes I even put a freezer block underneath it.
