Internet music
I'm a little late on the bandwaggon, but I discovered iTunes this weekend, and like all of it apart from the price, and the fact that all of the tracks are locked so they won't play on any of my portable media players.Since I could download anything I wanted for free, this is still too expensive (not that I support piracy).
I was recommended a great and legal alternative. This is a much cheaper site that bills you by the megabyte, which works out at about $1.50 per album. You can browse, preview, buy individual tracks, select the format and quality. It is fully legal because Russian law counts internet downloading as "broadcasting", and can charge broadcast rather than high street rates. I think $1.50 per album is about the right price. I can record and replay internet radio, so I don't think storing a recording of these "broadcasts" for personal use is illegal.
